Record active timeline advanced features
Apart from the video and four audio tracks there are other tracks available in the editing section of FORscene. These are described below:
![]() |
Comment - This is designed for leaving comments on a section either for personal or collaborative logging. To add a comment, left click on the point in the timeline that you wish to insert your comment and, when the green cursor appears, type the desired comment. The length of the comment can then be adjusted by right dragging using the trim tools. |

Slideshow - This is for inserting slides, for example for editing a presentation with slides running alongside a video. To view the video and slides side by side, you need to click on the "display mode" button in the top right of the record window. To insert a slide or image onto the slideshow track, simply drag your file from the files window and drop it on at the desired point. You can alter the position and duration of the slide by right dragging and using the trim tools. |

Chapters - This is designed for people editing a long video to be published on the web. To define a chapter, left click on the point in the timeline that you wish to insert your chapter and, when the green cursor appears, type the chapter name. The precise start and end of the chapter can then be adjusted by right dragging using the trim tools. This also acts as an extra edit point in the timeline. The web published video will have extra links allowing viewers to jump between chapters and not have to watch the whole video. |

Subtitles - To add a subtitle, just as with comments and chapters, click on the relevant place in the timeline and type when the green cursor appears. You will see the subtitles on the screen immediately. Adjust the length of a subtitle by double-sided trimming with the right mouse button. To bring up the subtitles options, right click on the subtitle you have created and your subtitle tools will appear. |

Image overlay - See 'Image overlay'. This track allows editors using FORscene to mark their video with watermarks, company logos or to insert any other image over the video. |
