Colour Correction and Audio Levels
Colour correction allows you to adjust your black and white levels as well as saturation within FORscene. To implement colour correction right click on an area in the record window and drag vertically to increase or decrease the colour levels. This is dependent on which colour is selected in the record window. For example if you select a black area on the picture the dark levels will be adjusted and selecting a white area on the picture will adjust the light levels. To adjust saturation, right click and drag horizontally. Dragging to the left will reduce the saturation and give your video a greyscale appearance. Dragging to the right will increase the saturation. To add White balance to your video, place your cursor over a section of the video that you want to use and hold down the right mouse button for 2 seconds.
To see which clips have been affected with colour correction, right clicking on the video track icon at the right hand side of the
record timeine to bring up the colour correction track select button
.
If you left click on this button it will disable the colour
correction that has been added to the selected clip, left clicking again will re-enable the colour correction.
You can add a fade to or fade from colour very quickly in FORscene by moving your cursor to the corner of a cliip so that it displays a cross icon. Left click and dragging inwards will set a fade to/from Black for the video. However right click and dragging the fade will bring up the colour wheel so that you can select a colour for your fade.
Audio levels can be adjusted using FORscene. Already mentioned previously is the active timeline audio fade tool that will allow you to
add fade in and fade outs. To adjust the audio levels more accurately right click on the audio level icon on the right hand side of the
record timeline. The audio level track select button should appear
.
Left clicking will disable any audio levels that have been changed, right clicking on this button will bring up the audio levels, the purple window opened,
shows the audio levels as they are in the record timeline.
There are two ways to adjust the audio levels, firstly by left clicking on a audio level point and dragging will allow you to move the location of the audio level point on the audio track and also the change the audio level itself. Black represents quiet while white represents loud. Red shows where the audio is being clipped and should maybe be brought down. To delete an audio level point, right clicking will delete it while right clicking on the audio level where there is no point will add a new one. You can also adjust an entire line by left clicking between two audio level points and dragging up or down to adjust a section.
Within FORscene you can quickly add a fade to and fade from silent on your audio tracks. Identical to the fade to/from option on the video track bring your cursor to the corner of a track and when your cursor icon displays a cross, click and fade in to add a fade to or from silent.
FORscene supports the editing of stereo audio, if two audio tracks are in sync (represented by the same colour on the timeline) any adjustments made to audio levels or fade in / fade outs will be repeated on both audio tracks. To adjust one half of stereo audio, you can un-sync your audio tracks and adjust individually before re-syncing your tracks.
