Create edit point - Selecting the create edit point button will create a cut edit at the location of the vertical white line. The edit will affect all active tracks at that location in the timeline. To remove an edit point, bring the vertical white line to the edit point and select the create edit point button again to join two clips together as one, if possible. |

Sync button - Click to toggle whether or not the sync is locked on the selected tracks. Clips with locked sync will be displayed with the same colour e.g. video and audio tracks when first put on the timeline are the same colour as the sync is locked by default. |
![]() |
Gaps button - Left click on the gaps button to create a gap (the gap is relative to how zoomed in you are on the timeline) at the nearest edit point on all the selected tracks at the location of the vertical white line. Right click will close the nearest gap as far as possible on all selected tracks. |

Create effect button - This creates a dissolve effect between two clips. By default, the dissolve is 5 frames in length in each direction. The dissolve can then be extended or shortened depending on artistic preference. This can be done by trimming at the end of the effect. A dissolve cannot be created between an edit points, where one or both video clips don't have enough extra footage at their source for a dissolve to be implemented. To include a dissolve in this instance, one or both clips may need to be shortened first. Right click on the 'Create Effect' button will bring up the extra dissolve options available. |

Right dragging on a track inside the active timeline allows you to move a track without disturbing other tracks that may be at the same location in the timeline.
