FORscene User Interface - Play (Blue) Window
When you log onto your FORscene account you will find the interface ready to be used. The Blue window on the left hand side is the 'Play' window and the Red window on the right hand side is the 'Record' window.
The files folder is already open and can be closed or opened by clicking on the icon. To start editing, click and drag a file into the speckle on the play window or alternatively, double click on the file in the files folder and it will appear in the play window. To play the video, click on the image.
To zoom in or out of the timeline you can click on the following buttons.
To zoom in click the plus
or zoom out by clicking the minus

You can also deselect the visual by clicking the TV
or deselect the audio by clicking on the speaker
,
next to the timeline, both under the video and in the active timeline below.
To navigate through the video you can use the buttons either side of the timecode. The timecode consists of 8 digits split into two's. e.g. 03:32:45:21. This is broken down into hours, minutes, seconds and frames. Hours = 0-23 / Minutes = 0-59 / Seconds = 0-59 / Frames = 0-24 in UK.
Left clicking on the buttons either side of the timecode can be used for:

Right clicking on the buttons does the opposite to the normal command, e.g. Right click moves forward one frame, left click moves backward one frame.
Alternatively, to navigate through the video you can use the mouse cursor to drag
the white vertical bar across the timeline at any speed you like.
Once you have chosen the clip that you want to take into your edit window
you can select your in point
by clicking on the timeline to find the beginning of the clip you would like to take
or by typing in the timecode (if known) in the timecode space on the left hand side of the in point button.
To select your out point
click on the timeline to find the end of the clip you would like to take or by typing in the timecode (if known)
in the timecode space on the right hand side of the out point button.
- The timecode between the in and out point buttons shows the length of the clip between the in and out points
- The in point must be before the out point in the timeline
- The black line (Selection Indicator) indicates the section on the timeline selected by the in and out points
Once the in and out points have been marked, left click on the video in the play (Blue) window and drag the video into the record (Red) window.
The Forbidden technologies logos
that appear around the edge of the picture in the record (Red) window are an indicator that you are viewing the last
frame of a clip.
Repeat the previous steps as necessary until you have all your clips in the edit window.
