Leading the world in Cloud based video tools
Web-based logging platform and searchable archive provide efficient post-process

Envy Post is one of the leading post houses in UK, operating out of five locations in the Soho area of London. Envy’s clients, Raw TV, are using FORscene to log over 2,000 hours of content for their production Gold Rush series 3. Raw successfully used FORscene to log Gold Rush series 2 in 2011.

The content is being shot on location in Alaska, while all the editing takes place in London. Footage is automatically uploaded to the FORscene cloud through a dedicated server in real time. Loggers can review and log the footage immediately. FORscene’s simple and easy to use navigation tools make it easy for the loggers to identify and add metadata to shots.

FORscene’s cloud-based technology enables the Alaska and the London teams to communicate effectively throughout the whole process. All the footage and metadata are continuously available through a web browser, both to the loggers and to the rest of the production team.

Metadata is a set of keywords which are used to describe shots and scenes. Raw’s loggers add time code accurate metadata to the different parts of the footage for editors to use later.

The editorial team search on these keywords to find relevant content quickly. On a large project such as Gold Rush, with many thousands of hours of content, this saves time and money. Editorial decisions can be passed back to the Alaska crew quickly, to aid the shooting process.

"We’ve used FORscene on productions at ENVY before. Its flexibility and proven track record prompted us to choose to provide it to our clients. I’ve been impressed with the developments in workflow since I first saw it three years ago, it’s a constantly evolving system that delivers real efficiency to productions both large and small"
