- The main window will open up as below. (If it does not look like this, check you have the latest version.)
- Select the Video Capture tab.
- Capture Device - if your device (video camera or tape machine) is plugged in correctly its name will appear here.
- If it says None Found make sure your Firewire / IEEE1394 cable is connected between the PC and the device, and make sure it is switched on.
- To upload a video into your FORscene account
- select a capture device
- enter a video name
- press Start Capture.
- Press Stop Capture to terminate the capture.

- Use your device controls to cue your tape to the start point of video you wish to capture.
- The signal from the tape machine appears in the preview pane on the right of the main window.
- The video will not be captured until you select Start Capture.
- Start Capture - this starts the capture and upload into FORscene.
- The content being captured is shown in the preview pane.
- The progress bars indicate what stage you are at.
- Start Capture toggles to Stop Capture when you press it.

- Capture will stop automatically if you specified a capture duration.
- Upload will continue until it has finished.
- Do not exit FORscene Load Pro until the upload is complete.
- Capture Progress
- the top figure to the right of the progress bar gives the current time code of the tape.
- The lower figure is the number of frames that have been captured.
- Upload Progress
- the top figure to the right of the progress bar gives the amount of data already uploaded to your FORscene account.
- The lower figure is the total amount of data to be uploaded.
- The capturing will stop when either the Capture Duration has been reached, or Stop Capture is selected.
- FORupload Pro captures in real time but the upload speed is dependent on your Internet connection speed. A standard ADSL broadband connection has 256Kbps upload speed - videos might take 8 times real time to upload.
- The video will appear in your FORscene account as it uploads, so you can start editing before it has finished uploading.
- When the upload has finished, a window will pop up as below. Click OK.
