Launch of live Internet streaming - FORlive
11th Sep, 2003
Forbidden Technologies, the company which develops and markets video streaming
products and services for the Internet, will launch FORlive, an exclusive new product,
which combines live, easy access and quality broadcasting over the Internet.
The launch will take place at the IBC2003 media trade show in Amsterdam on Friday 12th September.
The directors believe that FORlive is exceptional in its ability to deliver
high resolution live video at full frame rate from a camera over the Internet - broadband,
narrowband and mobile. No software plug-ins are required by end users. All standard web servers
support the Forbidden formats.
This product will enable Forbidden Technologies' customers to broadcast high
quality live video over the Internet from standard web servers. It also means that live footage
can be viewed from a PC with a standard web browser, or a mobile phone. Forbidden's flexible
development model has enabled the successful development of this product in a matter of months.
The new technology also allows real time compression of pre-recorded video
allowing immediate video playback from customers' websites using Forbidden's Java player.
Stephen Streater, Chief Executive commented:
"FORlive is the latest piece in the jigsaw being constructed by
Forbidden Technologies. The strategy is to develop easy to use, high quality products that meet
the needs of a wide range of markets. FORlive opens up a multitude of possibilities for Internet
video including live Internet news feeds, live sports coverage and live company announcements."
