FORscene employed for Citizen Journalism at IBC

Forbidden Technologies today announces the use of its FORscene web-based post production platform as the base for IBC’s first citizen journalism project. The project allows show attendees to contribute their own video stories about what’s hot and what’s not at this year’s IBC through their mobile phones.

News clips will be sent to the IBC Citizen TV base using FORscene, and with Forbidden’s mobile player and compression technology, the IBC news team will edit daily video coverage using FORscene, which automatically formats and compresses the video into mobile-size clips. To ensure a variety of contributions, IBC Citizen TV has also distributed Nokia N93 smartphones to a mixture of contributors from students to delegates.

To take part in the project, attendees can go to www.ibccitizen.tv to download the Forbidden FORscene player to their smartphone. They can then follow the simple directions onsite to send their video clips. Alternatively, attendees can go to Forbidden Technologies stand (hall 2, stand 110) to submit via bluetooth, avoiding call charges.
