Security

FORscene runs inside the Java sandbox so, unlike most applications, it cannot access any resources which might pose a security risk to users. Now FORscene users have the option of relaxing this slightly: cut and paste pop up Java security boxes giving FORscene users the option of using the system clip board.

Forbidden has star billing in this week's Sunday Times Business gossip column. Although the piece fails to credit Tom Winnifrith directly for the value added to Forbidden with his well timed provision of new capital at a significant premium to market price, it gracefully highlights Forbidden’s four fold increase in sales in the first half, and the success of both its new PR company and analyst in communicating FORscene’s potential.

Employee options

All Forbidden employees are eligible for share options, and these are awarded shortly after results publication at the prevailing mid market price. Directors also receive some options.

Further option exercise

The t1ps fund has exercised options over a further 125,000 Forbidden shares, bringing Forbidden’s free float above 20% for the first time. The placing last month raised £250,000, with option exercises since then providing a further £52,800.

Java interface

Recent upgrades to FORscene’s Java video editing interface include: better feedback for pan and zoom users, remotely uploaded files appearing immediately, extra right-click short cuts, the ability to export only those frames which Avid systems can handle, and fixes to all the minor bugs and inconveniences which have been reported by users - FORscene is maintained in an essentially bug-free state.

IBC Television News has access right into the heart of broadcasters worldwide, and this agreement will give many in the industry direct experience of FORscene for the first time.

FORscene has navigation bars which lie conveniently under each video window. The active time line now has a corresponding track to improve navigation while the main focus is on trimming, audio levels, pan and zoom and other timeline-based operations.

FORscene Load Mac

FORscene Load Mac v1.8.12 is a significant advance for users with a Mac on their local area network (LAN). Acting as a FORscene proxy server, the software allows any users to access material over the LAN once it has been seen over the internet once - extending FORscene's use to those companies with multiple users but limited external internet bandwidth.
