Mac upgrade
FORscene users can upload video in a variety of ways: the high performance dedicated Linux box; the Windows and MacOS X software; and with web upload. FORscene Load Mac version 1.6.12, which compresses DV content around 20 times, uploads up to twice as fast as previous Mac versions - almost matching the FORscene Load Linux upload speeds.

New servers
Forbidden is upgrading its FORscene infrastructure again, this time with the addition of two new servers to the internet backbone at Maidenhead. These add around 8,000 hours of video capacity for broadcast and professional FORscene customers.

Incremental search
One of FORscene's more popular uses in broadcast post-production is for frame accurate video logging. FORscene's ability to search for videos which match particular metadata has now been supplemented by a new real time incremental search in the logging window - matching clips within a video are displayed in real time as search terms are typed in.

Capacity upgrade
A recent server upgrade doubled the number of active broadcast customers FORscene can support. Now, a client side upgrade is being rolled out to FORscene Load Linux boxes around the world, doubling again the number of active users FORscene can support.

North One / Channel 4
North One Television, one of the top UK Indies, has adopted FORscene for its NHS series for Channel 4. FORscene Load digitises their rushes to FORscene and Avid at the same time. FORscene is used for remote logging, and allows producers and directors to make shot selections, which are exported as AAFs for auto-conform on Avid, saving time and money. Mark Bunkle, Production Manager said: "FORscene has been used by North One Television on several productions ... All in all it has been a great success".

Volume control
Today's FORscene upgrade adds independent volume control to each play window. This allows FORscene's review, logging and editing customers to adjust playback volume over a large dynamic range, including to well over 100%, allowing even the quietest sounds to be heard.
