NAB summary

Telecom@NAB2007

"Today’s telecom network operators need a video platform to succeed," announces the Telecom@NAB2007 conference. Come and see Stephen Streater demonstrating content creation, acquisition, management, protection and distribution on the FORscene web-based video platform. The talk and demonstration is at 4:20pm in room N238. Stephen will demonstrate how FORscene can be used by the telecoms companies themselves and how Clesh is ideal for use by their customers.

Forbidden Technologies has set up a FORscene account for NAB2007. Forbidden is making available 200 unique usernames and passwords for use with this account during and after the show.

Green Dimension

The FORscene video editing and publishing system is used by corporates as well as broadcasters. You can see a video of the 18m diameter WES 18 wind turbine published by Green Dimension.

NAB talk

Forbidden's CEO, Stephen B. Streater, has been invited to speak at NAB. The session, Putting It All Together, is taking place between 2:45pm and 5:00pm on Wednesday April 18. Stephen's presentation is in the section Magic Happens. Forbidden will be showing how the editing just illustrated by Avid, Sony and Adobe can now be carried out using the Web's video toolkit, FORscene.

Nokia N95

The Nokia N95, which has a 5M pixel camera and captures DVD resolution pictures, is now readily available in the UK with mobile phone operators offering cut price (and even free) N95s with contracts. FORscene is fully integrated with the N95 allowing upload of full quality video over 3G, Bluetooth or WiFi, editing on the web, and podcasting or publishing at full resolution and frame rate, making the FORscene/N95 combination the perfect tool for Citizen Journalists.

IVCA awards

PCI Fitch won no fewer than three IVCA awards for its Army on West Ridge Expedition project, including a Gold for "Effective Communication". This campaign used a branded version of FORscene mobile to promote the British Army to "Potential Army recruits in the 16-24 age group, a youth audience and a worldwide public audience".

NAB

US Interest in FORscene continues to mount and Forbidden is sending a delegation to NAB in Las Vegas. We have already pencilled in half a dozen meetings there with potential customers and partners.

Fades

FORscene now supports fade up and fade to black with a single drag on the video track. As with all FORscene video and audio effects, there is no delay waiting for rendering: fades play back in real time.
