The Regional Film and Video article headlined "British Army use Forbidden Technologies FORscene product" describes the ascent: "The summit attempt will take place in May 2006 coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the first Army Mountaineering Association’s summit of Everest".

British Army

The British Army recruitment campaign includes an attempt to accomplish the first British conquest of Everest via the treacherous West Ridge. They are using FORscene to publish video clips of the ascent to an Army branded version of Forbidden's mobile player. You can download the Army player from their website. With the Opera web browser on your phone, click the download link to install the Army player. Alternatively, download the player to your PC and Bluetooth it to your phone. You can then Bluetooth the player (and any videos) to your friends.

They also quote from the Chairman's statement released yesterday: "If our expectations of the outcome of the various pilots and projects with broadcasters are realised, our shareholders should begin to see significant change in the profile of the business".

Video podcast

FORscene and Clesh users can now video podcast. Dropping their videos onto the iPod publishing button makes them available in iTunes; they can then be watched by anyone with a video iPod.

Free Clesh account

As a special Easter offer, consumers can open a free Clesh account by clicking here. This gives free access (for reasonable use) to Clesh, Forbidden's web-based consumer editing, publishing and hosting software.

Blackbird 2

Version 2.0 of Forbidden's Blackbird video editing codec has been released. Blackbird 2 gives lower datarates in FORscene editing and web publishing. The datarate at full frame rate for the Freeview channels BBC News 24 and Sky News is reduced to 1.0Mb/s from 1.6Mb/s, with lower frame rates for slower connections.
