Web 2.0

The web is being upgraded to Web 2.0. Forbidden's award winning FORscene is Web 2.0 compliant in many ways. For example: FORscene is a service rather than packaged software; it is software above the level of a single device; Forbidden trusts users with many design ideas; and the design and implementation uses lightweight user interfaces and development models. In fact, by running as a Java Applet in a web browser, FORscene is more advanced than many Web 2.0 applications.

Recent press

Broadcast has included FORscene in its end-of-year round-up: "Soho post house Nats has also put itself in a position to offer clients an internet review and logging editing tool, developed by Forbidden Technologies. FORscene has been trialled by Granada in September to log and perform rough cuts for its 10-part documentary series Trust Me I'm a Holiday Rep.

RTS Award

Forbidden's FORscene has won the Royal Television Society Award for Technology in the Post-Production Process. You can see what they said about FORscene on this video, which was shot on a mass produced mobile phone, and edited and published using FORscene.

N90

FORscene and FORmobile now support the Nokia N90. For the first time, you can record CIF resolution video (approximately VHS), with high quality audio, on your mobile phone, and then upload it over the air for editing and publishing with FORscene. The N90 is not officially available in the UK yet, but Nokia have a huge sales target for next year. The Carl Zeiss Optics can only help.

The latest FORlive takes 10% less CPU time. FORlive can also used for web publishing from FORscene, giving a fast web publishing facility.
