Mac capture
FORupload is being extended to work on the Mac. The version currently in test allows quicktime files to be dragged onto the Mac friendly user interface - they are automatically uploaded into FORscene.

Dinner
Forbidden is holding the next in its series of industry dinners on 17th November. This will provide an opportunity for leaders in the Broadcast industry to discuss their plans in light of demonstrations of the latest technical innovations.

FORupload Pro
FORupload Pro, which gives Windows users the ability to capture video with time code directly from DV cameras and AVI files, has been upgraded. The new version gives lower data rate and improved picture quality, particularly on fast moving sequencies.

Forbidden's interim report has been posted to registered shareholders. Page 8 contains an application form for registered shareholders to complete giving them £1,000.00 of free credits in FORscene, Forbidden's unrivalled internet tool for logging, editing, reviewing and publishing.

Royal Television Society
Forbidden's FORscene has been nominated in the RTS Technology Awards for the Technology in the Post-Production Process Category. The awards ceremony will take place on 31 October 2005 at Bafta in Piccadilly, W1.

SIDF
The Sheffield International Documentary Festival (SIDF) is the UK's premier international event for factual film and television. Forbidden is one of three exhibitors at the festival - the others being Sony and Apple.

Logging
With several FORscene productions involving hundreds of hours source video, the need to annotate content is clear. The FORscene professional loggers' interface has been supplemented with a simple interface for journalists use. A new user can now start logging in less than ten minutes.

The Mail on Sunday's Special Report this week is "The mobile revolution". Alongside a picture of Forbidden's products in use, the article says: "The firm uses mobile phone technology for editing purposes. It often sends video samples for other businesses by phone for legal or editorial advice before completing professional business videos".

Cable & Satellite International reports on their Product of the Year awards 2005. FORscene was runner up in its sector with its FORmobile capability: "FORmobile ... also supports Viewtooth - Forbidden's technology that allows the player and/or videos to be sent to other phones via Bluetooth, thus supporting viral marketing ... FORmobile has an SMS billing capability, allowing content owners the opportunity to charge for content".

FORscene alerts
FORscene mobile publishers can specify a mobile phone distribution list. When the publishing completes, the people on the list are notified by text message. Clicking on the text message in FORmobile downloads the video, which can be made available generally, or to just the distribution list.
