EGM result

The resolution at today's EGM was passed unanimously, so no proxy vote was called. Of the proxy votes, the majority was over 5000:1 in favour of the resolution. This means that Forbidden can continue its long term incentive policy of issuing share options to staff. These options are within the institutional guidelines, are always granted at market price, and become exercisable if the staff member stays in employment with the company for three years from the date of grant.

Marketing Week quotes Forbidden's Business Development Director in an article headed "The recipe for success". Greg points out that using Forbidden's products: "We have ... [made] streaming video technology easier to use so organisations can now use a Web browser to view corporate events".

FORupload Pro

Forbidden is launching FORupload Pro at IOV2005 this week. FORupload Pro supports upload of video with timecode from a DV camera or tape machine directly into FORscene. As an added bonus, FORupload Pro can also upload existing AVI files.

FORscene upgrade

FORscene has a new feature: right click on the account button, and a new web page shows you graphically how fast you are spending your credits, with options to split the account by function (uploads / editing / publishing / viewing) or by video. You can see this for the guest account now.

European championships

This year, England is hosting the Euoropean Pair Go Championships. Forbidden's FORlive product is being used to stream the tournament, so this weekend you can watch live coverage of the event.

FORsecurity

Forbidden has recently demonstrated a prototype security application: a black box version of Forbidden's live compression keeps watch, and informs specified phones running FORmobile of any significant activity. The phone owner can then watch the event which triggered the alarm on his mobile and take appropriate action.

FORscene CMS

The latest FORscene comes with a comprehensive Content Management System. Metadata can be added to each video either locally or remotely. This metadata can then be searched to locate material, creating virtual bins. Alternatively, material can be ordered manually into bins.

FORscene upgrade

Forbidden's FORscene video editing and publishing tool now has a comment track, which can be trimmed in the same way as the V and A tracks. Executive Producers and Directors can add comments remotely on their own computers for editors to pick up later.

Citywire's update begins: "Forbidden Technologies is likely to be anything but forbidden for investors now that it has finally starting selling a tangible product...". The detailed article surmises: "... it will take the professional editing industry some time before it is prepared to switch working practices in such a large scale way. But ultimately, companies will be able to save a great deal of time and money, and new businesses will be able to develop previously unimaginable applications... for those that like risk this could just be the right time to come on board...".

EGM

Forbidden Technologies is holding an EGM on Friday, 29 April 2005 at 11:00. This will allow the grant of share options to staff following the results announcement. Options, which represent up to 1% of the company each year, are granted at market price, and allow staff to share in the increased value of the company they are helping to build.

FORmobile upgrade

Forbidden's FORmobile has been upgraded: users can choose whether to publish video to all mobile phones with Forbidden's free software (as before), or to specify a restricted audience - their FORmobile applications are informed of new video automatically. Allowing a private audience opens up new markets to FORmobile; more details will follow.
