Editing tools

Forbidden Technologies is developing a suite of editing tools for Internet video post production. These tools are designed for ease of use. Integration with our compression technology allows important new features that are not possible using traditional methods.

Google ads update

Forbidden's internet advertising campaign on Google, reported on last month, is continuing to gather momentum. Impressions now run into hundreds of thousands, with thousands of new users accessing this website as a result.

FORmobile update

Forbidden has signed up with Bango.net. Users can now trigger installation of our Symbian mobile phone player with a text message, from which Forbidden receives revenue. We will shortly be making our trial site public.

Live from Wimbledon

The Forbidden Technologies website now has live video round-the-clock. The Java player starts automatically when the web page is opened. Broadband users see large pictures at high frame rate; smaller pictures are provided for modem users or when the server is busy.

SDSL

Forbidden is joining the BT SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) trial. SDSL is similar to the more common ADSL, but supports fast upload as well as fast download. This is ideal for applications such as FORlive, where broadband videos can be uploaded live on to a web server for redistribution, or broadcast directly over the internet.

Live demonstration

Forbidden Technologies has linked up with Travel Media Solutions and the World Travel Market 2003 Exhibition for the first public demonstration of FORlive, Forbidden's live video streaming solution.

Strategy day

Forbidden has held a further strategy day. We have assessed the progress of our latest product range, including FORpresentation, FORmobile, and FORlive, and thought through our strategy for the coming years.

FORmobile

Forbidden's mobile video application FORmobile, which has a web demonstration here, is now available for download by selected users. Content owners and other potential customers of FORmobile can contact Liz for details of the URL. We support download both via a PC and directly over the air.

FORpresentation upgrade

Forbidden has upgraded our recently launched internet/intranet video presentation product. In addition to Internet Explorer, FORpresentation now also supports Mozilla-style web browsers.
