FORscene Load Mac

FORscene Load allows customers to compress their videos locally making the upload to the Web up to 20 times faster. The latest FORscene Load Mac, v 1.7.12, is now available for download via the Mac tab.

MPEG 2

Forbidden’s broadcast customers now have access to MPEG 2 output. After editing their video in FORscene, broadcasters can export MPEGs from FORscene at broadcast quality for transmission.

Search

FORscene’s content management system allows material to be located rapidly using the built in search engine. Recent upgrades give simpler identification of specific clips matching search terms, as well as an instantaneous incremental search within videos.

This week, Broadcast features web-based workflows. The author writes: "The internet may be revolutionising media distribution, but its implications have barely impacted on production itself. That looks set to change as web-based applications begin to substitute traditional post-production methods. Already trialled by a number of producers, the technology has potentially huge ramifications." blue's post-production director Sara Hill adds: "We'd rather work with new systems like FORscene, which particularly benefit producers with reality or ob-doc productions that process large volumes of rushes and have a need for fast turnaround".

Tooltips

As all FORscene’s drag and drop interface does something when you click on it, or drag to or from it, everything has a tooltip - which pops up only when it might be useful. Buttons being explored quickly now give brief tooltips, which are extended for users who persist.

They continue: "FORscene is a video editing platform that provides tools for logging, editing and reviewing video via the web. Axis graphics enables users to build broadcast-quality graphics on any PC without the need for special hardware or software".

Remote support

FORscene users can now give training and support staff live remote access to their accounts, so they can show and be shown in real time. This feature works through firewalls, and (unlike installed software) works without enabling access to local storage.
