Clear Cut Pictures add FORscene to their client services

Post House adds Forbiddens tools to provide web-based services to clients

Forbidden Technologies today announced that Clear Cut Pictures has adopted FORscene as part of its client service offering.

With FORscenes Load Linux system installed at Clear Cut Pictures, rushes and edit playouts were uploaded directly into FORscene at the same time as digitising occurred into local Avid Unity storage – all in real time. FORscenes built-in logging and rough-cut editing tools provided access to rushes through a web browser, either at client PCs inside Clear Cut or elsewhere, including on location. Used by producers and directors alongside editors, FORscene enabled the production team to work on and monitor content during post-production and to allow the director to contribute effectively during the off-line edit itself.

Clear Cut provided FORscene to its client Endemol during the production of Can You Bank On Me?. Rushes were split-digitised locally, allowing loggers and production staff at Endemol to access the material through a web browser. Edited playouts were then uploaded back to FORscene for review and sign-off.

Genna McWhinnie, Post-Producer, Clear Cut Pictures said:

"Were always looking at new services to provide to our clients. FORscene has really opened up the workflow and allowed us to make more efficient use of our edit suites. Being able to provide the client with easy access to their material even if they cant travel in is very attractive."

Hannah Wythe, Production Manager, Endemol said:

"FORscene has been a great tool throughout this production. Our team picked it up quickly; it was very easy to use. I found being able to access rushes and logs during the edit very helpful, as well as enabling me to view the cuts during the offline for clearance and compliance purposes."

"Clear Cut Pictures are committed to embracing new technologies that will enhance and improve the clients experience and to make post-production a smooth, efficient and cost effective process."

Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies, said:

"FORscenes consistently high level of service is enabling established service providers like Clear Cut Pictures to provide the benefits of web-based workflows, helping clients meet budget demands."

Can You Bank On Me? was produced by Endemol for BBC ONE. It was transmitted on 24th August 2009.
