Charity launches comedy podcasts with Forbidden Technologies

CALM extends successful comedy night to masses with multimedia technology

Forbidden Technologies and the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) have teamed up to deliver comedy across the net, creating podcasts of its incredibly successful Stand Up To Stop Suicide comedy night. The sold-out show, which was held last week at Clapham Grand in London, was the inaugral event to highlight the plight of young, depressed men in the UK.

David Baddiel, patron of CALM and compere for the evening, introduced a star-studded roster of comedians, including Simon Amstell, Ed Byrne, Hattie Hayridge and Richard Herring. Forbidden Technologies has provided its web-based editing and publishing platform to the charity gratis allowing CALM to produce podcasts of the evening for viewing at

Jane Powell, national director of CALM, said:

“We are very excited about the success of Stand Up Against Suicide and the attention it is bringing to the cause. The ability to publish podcasts of the event quickly is important to us to spread the message. Using the form of media is especially important when targeting a youth audience. With Forbidden’s help we have been able to turn around the production of these podcasts in a few days, which has kept up the momentum on this most important campaign.”
