CTVC uses FORscene to enhance global client services

Post-production facility provides edit and review access through Forbidden’s platform
Forbidden Technologies, the AIM quoted developer and marketer of a leading
web-based video platform, today announced that CTVC is providing FORscene as a
web-based service for several stages in the post-production for four ITV programmes.
CTVC is uploading live Avid playout feeds into FORscene via FORscene Load’s SDI
interface. Commissioners, compliance and scheduling at ITV can then review and
give feedback on the material via the internet from their computers, enabling
faster turnaround.
FORscene’s global access has also provided benefits to CTVC. A production for
international distribution required changes but the editor was in New Zealand.
Using FORscene’s frame accurate tools he was able to fine-cut sequences, and
then CTVC in London exported Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) files to conform
the sequences before completing the on-line editing on Avid.
Martin Long, Head of Production, CTVC said:
"FORscene has provided us with the tools to continue our creative process
regardless of the filming or editing location. With recent productions, we’ve
had extremely positive feedback from commissioners at ITV who have used FORscene
to review and approve playouts."
Pete Burns, Project Manager, Forbidden Technologies said:
"The increased functionality of FORscene works with the change in editing
culture. It increases turnaround speed without compromising on quality and in
addition enabling efficient use of budgets."
The first programme for ITV, "Flight of Faith", screens on ITV 1 on Sunday
November 22 2009.
