FORscene Load Mac

Version 1.7.10 of FORscene Load Mac is available for download. This version supports QuickTime video formats, and also the range of codecs supported by the standard open source media library FFMPEG.

Internet television

Forbidden's CEO, Stephen Streater, has made a second guest appearance on the Trading Places internet TV channel. This is watched by the large sharecrazy.com subscription audience.

Endemol

Broadcast reports: "Endemol is using web-based editing and logging tools from Forbidden Technologies to speed up production on two of its factual shows ... rushes [are] uploaded to Forbidden's servers and access provided via a web-browser. This enables production teams based anywhere in the world to monitor and log footage and do rough cut edits during location shoots. Endemol production executive Susan King said the web-based workflow had been a real eye opener: ‘With filming in LA, our UK-based producer saved many hours of travelling by providing editorial input via FORscene throughout the actual filming period’".

Server upgrade

The eight servers on the FORscene network dedicated to Forbidden's broadcast customers are distributed over three locations and handle around 10,000 hours of new video content each week. Following a software upgrade this morning, they now act as one system, increasing both effective capacity and redundancy.

Bullseye

The UK hit TV dart based game show Bullseye is again using FORscene to host its promo video. NB Some territories around the world have had access blocked to comply with international rights restrictions.
